THE GROUP

Since 1981, CAMA is an international leading company whose core business is the engineering and the production of complete high technology secondary packaging systems for major multinational groups both in the food and non-food markets.
Its outstanding packaging knowledge combined with a unique machine range (Packaging Division) and robotic loading units (Robotic Division), represent CAMA capability to propose complete lines starting from the handling of primary packages such as flow-wraps, bags, trays…up to the supply of final carton/corrugated packaging ready for palletising.
The group annually invests 5% of the turnover in R&D to offer its customers innovative solutions.
The CAMA GROUP staff (200 people), is composed of a selected group of experienced and highly skilled engineers and technicians all committed to the company philosophy of “total quality process system”.
The CAMA GROUP works in close partnerships with a network of qualified suppliers, identified as C.S.P (Cama Selected Partners), whose quality and performances are constantly monitored and controlled in application of the company’s robust and demanding quality control procedures.


Our History

Founded by Paolo Bellante, Italian General Manager of "Container Corporation of America", in 1981.
Today Cama exists in 8 countries with more than 3000 delivered machines.

    Foundation of CAMA1 by Paolo Bellante, Italian General Manager of "Container Corporation of America".

  • 1987

    Start of TEMA, second company of the group, specialized in robots and manipulators manufacturing.

  • 1988

    Opening of CAMA FRANCE subsidiary.

  • 1991

    Due to constant company's growth, the production site of Molteno (2500 mq) is built.

  • 1992

    GECA is established as group engineering company, for development of complete packaging lines.

  • 1995

    The son Daniele and the daughter Annalisa Bellante join the company.

  • 1998

    Internal CAMA R&D pool dedicated to mechanical and electronic research and development.

  • 1999

    Start of ELECTRO SERVICE, for electrical engineering, design and production of software systems for packaging machines and robots.

  • 2000

    Opening of CAMA UK subsidiary 2001 The company's management is transferred to the second generation of the Bellante family.

  • 2003

    Building of a new larger factory (approx. 6000 m2) to match the continuous company's growth.

  • 2005

    Larger production area.

  • 2006

    CAMA-SPS collaboration for "TURN-KEY" lines Supply.

  • 2007

    Opening of CAMA Deutschland GmbH Subsidiary.

    New offices CAMA GROUP.

What makes Cama unique in the field of packaging is a “global consulting approach” to each customer’s packaging automation requests. Solutions with great added value have been developed thanks to Cama USP – Unique Sales Proposition. The series of values that Cama can give to the Customer produce a strong sense of consulting, partnership and trust on the part of people and customers.

Cama has been supplying packaging machines for over thirty years, now offering its “new generation” machines AND robotic loading units with the latest open architecture electronic controls. This series has been developed and improved during recent years to achieve higher performance and increased reliability, along with user friendly interface for line operators and mechanics.

All Cama machines can be combined in complete packaging lines for biscuits, confectionery, cereals, powders, yogurt, ready meals, ice creams, personal and home care products, as well as other major industries.

Cama engineers innovative packaging machinery solutions following a well developed and adopted motto: “Technology with Added Value”. This company mandate, combined with constant investment in new products and technical solutions, has led to successful market oriented products providing competitive technical advantage, reduced costs and high quality.

Cama’s engineers carefully harmonize various components of the machines, including servo drives, to achieve flexibility and productivity while meeting the highest standards of safety and simplicity.


Certifications

Cama is certified UNI EN ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 in the field of automatic packaging machinery and systems and robotics. The certifications, issued by SQS (the Swiss association for Quality and Management Systems), one of the highest reputation certifying boards in the world, cover sales, design and production of packaging machines, after sales and spareparts service, safety and environment. The ISO certifications guarantee Cama’s high quality in the manufacturing process, in the choice of materials, in the internal work organization and in pursuing constant development and improvements, in full respect of environment.

The Code of Ethics is an integral and fundamental tool of the Model of Organization, Management and Corporate Control which CAMA 1 S.p.A. adopted pursuant to the Italian Legislative Decree no. 231/2001.

The purpose of the Code of Ethics is to identify and define Cama’s ethical and fundamental values and support their respect.

It is indeed CAMA 1 S.p.A.’s firm conviction that ethics in the conduct of activities facilitate business success, thus spreading an image of reliability, professionalism and transparency of internal and external activities carried out in order to achieve its management objectives.

All Cama’s activities regarding Environment, Labor Practices, Fair Business Practices and Sustainable Procurement were evaluated by EcoVadis, the international platform which comprehensively assesses Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Awarded the Silver Rating with an overall score of 56 points, Cama activities rank far above the average. Only 11% of all general-purpose machinery manufacturers, evaluated by EcoVadis, reach this score. Within the theme Sustainable Procurement Cama attained the top 5% level of the companies ranked.

Corporate Social Responsibility is the continuing commitment to behave responsibly by integrating social and environmental concerns into business operations. CSR goes beyond regulatory compliance to focus on how companies manage their economic, social, and environmental impacts, as well as their relationships with stakeholders (e.g. employees, suppliers, government).

Sedex (the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) is a not-for-profit, membership organization that leads work with buyers and suppliers to deliver improvements in responsible and ethical business practices in global supply chains.

SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Report) is an audit procedure which is a compilation of good practice in ethical audit technique.

SMETA 6.0 high quality Audit has been conducted in Cama in October 2018. The Audit encompasses all aspects of responsible business practice, created by the Sedex Stakeholder Forum.

It provides a globally-recognised way to assess responsible supply chain activities, basing on 4 pillars:
